The long, narrow spout lets you pour slowly and exactly where you want, which is what the V60 asks for. For French press, moka or AeroPress you don’t need one: any kettle will do.

UK mains are 230 V. If you buy an electric kettle, check that the listing says 220-240 V and shows the plug type you need.

What to check before buying

  • Hob or electric. A stovetop one is cheaper and lasts longer; an electric one with temperature control is more convenient.
  • Voltage and plug. For an electric one, check it’s 220-240 V and look at the plug in the listing.
  • Capacity. 1 l is enough for a V60; for a full Chemex, 1.2 l is better.

Sources

I haven't tried all of these products in person. The data come from the manufacturer's website or, when I don't cite one, from the amazon.co.uk listing (each source says which). I write with the help of AI and check every figure against those sources. I don't publish prices because they change daily: the one that counts is the price you see on Amazon when you buy.
